Notary Public

A notary public witnesses, certifies and authenticates documents so they can be relied on overseas or in other jurisdictions - things like documents for use in a foreign country, statutory declarations, and certified copies of official documents.

This is a distinct role from general legal advice: a notary's job is to confirm identity, witness signatures, and certify that a document is what it claims to be, in a form that's recognised internationally.

When you might need a notary

Common situations include documents for overseas property transactions, powers of attorney to be used in another country, and educational or personal documents that need to be certified for use abroad.
